This week we take a look at Sly and the Family Stone’s 1971 epic “There’s a Riot Goin’ On”. This album marked a departure from the group’s optimistic 60s soul anthems, towards a more darker and experimental sound that was reflective of the social climate of the time, as well as the mind space that Sly Stone himself was in at the time.
